LUNAR NODE
exploring unknown territory ep launch

i have more photos which you can view at www.lunarnode.com.

the day... .... no nono, let's try this again. THE day started at 850am in heritage view. picked stuffs up from everywhere, shifted equipments into a van as if i was one of them. my tag says, "MEDIA: OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER" only leh. EH~~

reached artshouse in the early afternoon, and i began my stoning, while the people started setting up. you know i hate going into details.

at around 745pm, the ones who appreciates good music came. those who'd rather less good music had their bums stuck onto their couch, or were busy catching the curious case of benjamin buttons which was a really horrible flick. i stood up 2 hours into the show and made my way down to the just-reached leo on a friday night. the rest of the people continued feigning interest and like how people will stroke their chins while staring at an art piece forever, they sat down in the theatre 40 minutes longer than i did. too much of side-tracking.

atc opened. but who really cares. it was a lunar node night. hahaha so funny, like how gerald looked at his watch during the show and explained, "it has only been a year since the band get... ..." i thought their set was tight as usual, but the band didn't think so. but it was definitely rushed. cmon, it's already bad enough that you guys looked like mutes on the stage playing instrumental music. try saying something into the mic, WITHOUT STAMMERING.

okay, i invitied yulineileenrobbielynetteshektingbenalexshahridaniandarrenyanhui, and yah, that's about all. tickets were sold at $15 inclusive of an ep, and $10 for entry only. their eps were sold separately at $12 each. so, i had 3 friends who paid for the $10 tickets. i topped them $15, and now, I HAVE 3 COPIES OF LUNAR NODE EP. yay-to-me okie.

oh of course, i must surely talk about the power of the media pass i was wearing that night. i know, i stood up and walked about quite often, but if you're gna stay at the corner of the perimeters of the 'stage' throughout the gig, i rather you use your camera as a dildo. like, get a telephoto zoom lens for better penetration. so, this bugger, whom i've already seen his photos and pffffft... wah a shithead. it's either his system's auto focusing mechanism was bitten by his dog the day before, or he really needs a new pair of spectacles. anyway, he came up to me and said, "try not to stand up so often, because it can be quite distracting." I SWEAR TO THE HEAVENS I WANTED TO MAKE MY POWERFUL MEDIA PASS A TEMPORARY BURNING FACE MASK FOR HIS UGLY SI BA GAO FACE. he has no idea... no idea at all. AND OH YES, HE HASN'T GOT A PASS AROUND HIS NECK. :O

okay, the shit that i just talked about... it really did happen, but i'm not that boastful and stubborn. i tried to move away from his viewfinder, but i have to agree that it wasn't an easy task, considering my heavyweight-ness accompanied by the almost pathetic size of playden. at the end of the show, the guy came up and apologised for being that weeee bit rude to me.

i know i should really talk a lot more about the set and all but i've decided not to. you people should have made your way down there yourselves. not lay back and wait for your friends to send you the tracks via msn, read the blogs of others and close the eyes to engage yourselves in total imagination.

i had been to gigs. i didn't feel the explosive-ness when i heard plushfools' music. almost a year ago, gerald started a conversation with me on messenger. he gave me the band's myspace site, which bore only one sample the other time. i was thinking, "not again..." because gerald used to have a lot of his own compositions and doings that he wants to show to the world. not that he has completely rid of of this habit, but at least at present, it's good stuff that i listen to and look at. and so, i put on my headphones and listen to the only sample - exploring unknown territory, which the band has since scraped because of some changes in the arrangements. i listened, and it was boring. really dead boring. but i thank the heavens that i endured throughout the song, because into the fourth minute, everything changed. that particular built up then fill in (gerald-ine yknow what i'm talking about) was explosive. too bad you guys won't get to hear it. ha. and because of that 'explosion' -.- i respected the band. from that day on, i'd bug gerald to send me the tracks each time he was in his car on his way back from recording. they are gooood. they must be trying to set a record here - an EP in 1 year.?!

and then i want to say this: I'VE PUT IN ALL THIS EFFORT - the messenger conversations i had with the most random people you can ever link me with a week before the launch, my presence at almost every gig, the many favours i did (like walking to the car a million of times to take something for the band) in that 4 hours before the show started, moving the crazily heavy amps and dismantled drumsets, the long mic and cymbal stands which was quite a task given my height, and all my contributions to this band, if ever, you guys ever look at it as one - FOR THE PAST YEAR BECAUSE IT IS LUNAR NODE, AND NOT BECAUSE IT IS MY GOOD FRIEND, GERALD-INE'S BAND. IT IS LUNAR NODE, AND LUNAR NODE IS A GROUP OF UGLY-LOOKING DUCKLINGS THAT PRODUCE GOOD SHIT. IF GERLET KOH WASN'T IN THIS BAND, I WILL STILL GIVE IT ALL THE SUPPORT I CAN WHEN I GET TO KNOW THEM.

thank you, goodbye.

p/s: will be patiently awaiting the cd launch, and all the best for baaaayyybeaaaaats.!
