MAYDAY 五月天 IS
ashin
shi tou.
guai shou.

masa.
guan you.
the ushers warned me about the use of SLR cameras only to be told off reasonably by yours truly. he insisted that it was their policy, and my retort went something like, "no i'm not a professional photographer. this is my father's camera and the only camera in the household. (i lied.) why aren't SLR cameras allowed.? then why are ordinary digital cameras allowed.?" the usher only had to persist weakly once, turn back and walk off, to give me the go-ahead sign to continue shooting with my camera. the mayday concert was super fantastic (not using the word like that in ordinary exaggerated context). pyro-technics, stage running 360 degrees around the indoor stadium, suitable lighting techniques, XX thousand of screaming fans in hysteria, and most importantly, intricate and tight music arrangements. no beat went off the drums, vocals didn't (like how the hokkien dialect translate) zhao xia a wee bit, guitarists impressing with high-level guitar solo (got shredding okay.!), and bass guitar was clearly audible. birthday celebration for one of the members, and the masa joked about how they could celebrate with guan you as a birthday cake. he continued, and said guan you had to lie down to let his candle stand up. hnngz. he added about how he used to have a good impression of singaporeans having clean and pure thoughts. the 2 xiao mei mei behind me were screaming their lungs out at short stops after every ashin's sentence. then when ashin cracked a joke that i couldn't make out because of the thick taiwanese accent, the 2 xiao mei mei laughed loyally as true die hard mayday fans. then after a short pause, one of them asked the other, "ta jiang she me ah (what did he say).?" k, true mayday fans for you.

the audience get worn out after waving their light sticks for a long time. my hands tire because of the incessant shutter clicking. i took a grand total of 1311 photos (three 2GB and one 512MB SD card). mayday fans, beat that.

the lectures and tutorials ended today at 3pm. we made our way to yulin grandma's wake. god is so cruel yet full of surprises at times. the suddenness was too much of a contrary to friday night. we were having good fun, a break came-early to relax ourselves completely, marking our 2nd week at attempting to adapt to the poly life. the people danced under the spotlights of MOS (while i sat at high chairs alone, playing joe-cool, trying to look professional with a SLR. shooting at... lol, ISO HI 1, the only mode after the maximum of ISO 1600, because d40x is a donkey camera.), the people went to arab street and drank (while i slept my night away in the comfort of provided pillows with soft indian mortiffs as design for their fabric covers), the people met new people (while i tried my best to be the middle man), and the people took a cab home, not needing to worry about the fare because an angel had the caring principle of safe teenagers after midnight is more important than trying to buff up my wallet with extra notes. then all of a fucking sudden... ...

take care ah holmie. will always be awaiting anxiously for your return to school for less lonely lunch breaks.
