i just got the news on the forum i frequent that singapore's GST will be raised from a 5% to a 7%. remember, initially, it was a mere 3%, and it almost got us choked. then, it raised to 5%, and finally (hopefully), 7%. LHS announed the news singaporeans dread in the Parliament on monday. he must have not the slightest idea that we, as singaporeans, are extremely kiasu people (we even have a word to describe ourselves). everyone of us are head over heels with money in this era, but it seems LHS is doing everything he can to break money and us apart. here's the news report.

the red-lined box is the killer statement to all adults. this means, the coins in their purses will not be spared. how cruel and devilish of mr LHS. even the people of the cabinet have their own views and are not afraid to express them through their bodily expression.

everybody is sulking at this statement. everyone except LHS himself. at closer look, i detect happiness and at even closer look, i see a proud smug at the edge of his lips.

sick people. here, people are jockeying for job positions, some even jobless, some even have problem satisfying their 3 meals' worth of hunger, and there they are, having the time of their lives, never regretting on their hefty expenditure each time they visit a restaurant or a shopping mall. they should spare a thought for us. please, people who are eligible to vote, put some serious consideration in your casts, spare a thought for my mom who can't even afford a 950k condominium, and most of all, spare a thought for the elderlies who are rummaging through big dirt bins everyday.! you will do everybody good.!
