the holidays are here, and i'm sick. YES.! this term's meet-the-parents session (i don't know why, but the teachers in new town will always want to see my parents) was one of the best for me. my mom had to leave early to go to a law firm (only some may know the current financial state i'm in), so, mr malik had a really brief chat with her. meet-the-parents session ended for my mom and i in less than 2 minutes. i'm a lucky man. it's the usual, "oh joey's a very playful boy. he can do well in his studies if he prioritise his studies well." i get that every term, and seriously, my mom treats that as a compliment more than a complain. she thinks i'm the joker or the kai xin guo of the class and my family with my bubbly infectious laugh. that's all for the meet-the-parents thing.

on friday, we had our annual cross country held in west coast park (again). i don't see a point of running if it isn't for any charitable purpose. every single one of the express and normal acad students were running for what seems like their life. the normal technical people were making a fool out of themselves, throwing every stone they see on the floor at each other. and i was making love to terencejit. i had the time of my life. we strolled back as slowly as we could, savouring every delicious and romantic moment we were enjoying. okay, i'll just hope some kiddy book publisher like Puffin will want to take my books in if i ever become a writer. that made my hair stand. and guess what.? i got first.! in our small little walkathon competition. -.- i swear i'll never ever go for another cross country again. i'll buy red paint to paint red spots all over my body to make it seem like i have chicken pox, or i'll heat myself up in an oven (if i can fit) until i get a fever that is over 40 degree celcius, just so that i can excuse myself from cross country. i think students will have the desire to come for cross country every year if they start improving their standard of orange juice by chilling it instead of adding ice into it, because it dilutes it. if not for the big macdonalds sign on the orange juice dispenser, i would have thought it was plain water.

enough of how bad cross country was on friday. time and time again, i hear incidents where one guy gets hit by 10 other people outside school. why can't people just thrash out their problems verbally.? and that doesn't mean using vulgarities. what is it with people hurting their own type when they're in a rage.? it's really ironic. do they gain something when they hit somebody else.? temporarily cheers from friends and nothing further or better than that. i can't understand why fighting is a norm to such people already. it's in their veins. it's habitual for them to hit somebody when they feel a weeny bit of unhappiness in them. worse still, they will find the nearest usuable weapon (anything, from a toothbrush to a coffee table) and inflict much more pain, or even kill them. how did the world evolve to such a cruel environment, with vulgarities, pornography and hurting being the most common thing.? i feel sad for God sometimes.

the following is a picture of me standing beside the authentic 18 carat World Cup Trophy that detoured and arrived in Singapore during its world tour.

lastly, i would like to wish Joey Teh a speedy recovery. he has been my ever-longing obsession and my source of inspiration and joy when needed. just call my name, and i'll be there.
