i'm having the time of my life right now. it is so important for me to start to get the hang of what poly life is all about, and i'm glad i'm already beginning to do so. must change the bad habit of asking for permission to go to the washroom, because everytime i do so, my tutors look at me and, "go lah why must ask.?!" and right in front of class. so, in future, i should walk with my arms swaggering behind my back, right smack through the class in front of the lecturer, and with my handphone playing loud techno songs. sorry la lecturers, my chinese teacher yang meh meh you know.
my tutor introduced the photography room to us that day, because we had to take photographs of our models depicting the play of shadows/light and it rained, the skies were cloudy and the floors were wet. but they decided to move the equipments up to our studio, and set it all up. then, i suddenly got all interested with my work. studio umbrellas, external lighting, tripod, and a 400d kit. when the TSO wanted to help us with all the manual settings, i practically shoo-ed her away. i went, "yah i know," at least 25 times before she decided it was safe to leave the equipments with, and the settings to, us. then we started doing all sorts of things, like how a curious kid will explore her mother's bra (like cup it on his testicle-sized head), and ended up with a 2GB memory card half used. the rest of our classmates joined in, and all of them were begging for us to take photographs of their models for their design documentation. we made them do stupid things like, "eh okay you stand there. your finger put like that. eh you. yah you. stand behind there. raise your chin higher. eh you, your finger lower a bit. ah, like you digging her nose like that. lower. lower. higher. higher. okay okay stop. don't move." then click, then, "OKAY BYEBYE WANT TO GO TOILET." all of them, "WAHLAO HELP LEH." but we decided we shouldn't be too nice to strangers.
my pre-mature polytechnic walk wouldn't be as easy and light as it is without the company of these 3 human. they make jokes like, "eh you. stand closer to the studio light. your skin darker." and it wasn't meant to be a racist joke. occasionally during tutorials, we will tell our lovely lecturer that, "we have to print this picture.! or else cannot continue leh teacher.!" and after given permission by our tutors willingly, we roam about the entire campus like treasurers. it is eating pastries at a canteen far away for a start, and who knows, we might make our way to johore to buy bubble gum in the middle of our lessons at the end of the year. the work, no doubt, comes in a crazy load at one go. we weren't even yet done with our first project when our tutors started briefing us on the second. next submission date is on the 15th of this month.
okay, i think i retract what i used to complain about when we were having fun at west coast park as orientation when all the other singapore poly students had already started lessons proper - go west coast park play soccer now can.? or fishing.? or frisbee.? or build sandcastle.? or just don't do work.? hehehaha.
