44 class chalet: 7th, 8th and 9th of january.a class chalet for my much missed classmates, with the presence of a bbq pit, a mahjong table, and a whole lot of chatterbugs. funny how i managed to stick through the 3 days with 9 or more talkative persons under the same roof. i guess this class chalet might have been quite a stupid idea for me individually (forking out an additional $75 on top of the cost per pax), but hey, i think it's all very much worth every single cent. i came up with the idea of having a class chalet by myself when i was on the way back from another chalet, all drowsy and groggy from lack of sleep, in the train. and yes, having some bits and impression all messed up, i could only have looked for one person to piece everything up altogether - late night msn-ing after work, mass sms-ing for confirmation from fellow classmates, foodlist designing, and much accounting to make the both of us have enough headaches to keep us away from work for one entire month. BUT, we still did it, for the sake of the class. i think sulin is a champion. though it was my idea inititally, she came up with the essentials (booking the chalet, foodlist, budget per pax, supplying all the
everything-you-know-lah, and even the marination) and somehow, the idea of having this class chalet became her idea. she was more than willing to help me out, and we both agreed to pay extra for this class chalet. make things short, i thank you sulin, deep down from my
crotch.
we bought our food at vivo giant. our receipt was as long as a pool cue, and it came up to a staggering amount of $436. carvey, sulin and i took a cab down to her house, and that's when we started groaning and complaining - we took the iniative to packet 4 prawns each to ensure fairness in aluminium 'pocket holsters' (which needed skill and patience to fold), categorised all the marinated chicken fillets, thighs, and wings in separate ziplock bags which will help in differentiating later, have sulin's parents drive to the nearest NTUC to buy more stuff because we overlooked the ingredients needed for marinating, sacrificing my tee because we had to
squeeze, and
ooze, and
push, all the poisonous ink in the squids' body, and even had a mini tiff because carvey thinks it'll be better to add parsley leaves but sulin thinks otherwise. cut that short, i think we did quite a lot for this chalet - from organising this chalet (booking and making sure everybody turns up), preparation of food (buying, transporting to home for marinating), transportation of food to chalet (we took a maxi cab which cost us $42 in total from sulin's house to the chalet at changi), making sure everybody pays up and bringing all the buckets, utensils, and GameOfLife back (only applies to sulin). we took the same cab back - the uncle charged us $60.
piang, cabs up, maxi cab also up.note to self:things to look back at and smile like an idiot to myself when i am on the bus -
