today's a very special day for all the moms in the world. and to begin with, i'll tell you something absolutely factual about my mom. my mom is... WOO... and fucking WAH... of course she's very WOW too! she's as cool/hot/sweet/pretty/popular as kim jones, marc jacobs, cristiano ronaldo, jessica alba, paris hilton, my drumset, mrs betty wong, donald trump, spongebob squarepants and many more. through these 16 years of my life, she painstakingly raise me to be a, should i say, upright and normal teenager. without her, i wouldn't have been slamming hard on my drums, couldn't have won talentime 2006, play football everyday under the scorching sun with my schoolmates, learn what the hell is cosine rule, get to watch movies every weekend at her expense, make friends who make or break your life, get to be addicted over little things like online games, fall in love with muse and maybe bon jovi, get to read josh grisham's, strum effortlessly on the guitar, and many others, which includes typing away furiously on the keyboard, for i know i am excited to show how much i love the almost-perfect woman who gave me life in physical form.

not everybody in this heartless place called earth has the lofty privellege to celebrate what is best known as Mother's Day - some lose their loved ones too early, while some, their loved ones lose them too quickly. be joyous about this much celebrated occasion, even if it means dining at the hawker centre around the corner of your neighbourhood! it's your mother's day, please!

my mom exercises direct authority at home(the kind you can't say, 'no', when she says, 'yes'), but at the same time, she cannot be considered a strict mother. she is the matriarch of our family, and so, being all the more important. there were times when she stood up for me, and there were times i failed to stand up for her (i'm not copying from the content in 'for one more day' by mitch albom).

(1) my mother will send me to school faithfully every morning, and not say a thing, no matter how much anger she has inside her, when she gets caught in the 730am jam on her way back on clementi road, and when she is already running late for work.

(2) my mother will wake up on purpose and drive me out for supper, when she knows i haven't had my dinner, and am complaining.

(3) my mother can forget all about my wrong doings in the past, correct me tactfully, and never mention a word about it.

(4) my mother never says, 'no' when i say i'm staying over at a friend's place. similarly, she never says, 'no' when i tell her i'll be back home very late.

(5) my mother wants me to have fun with my friends, and she loves me just like how you love your girlfriend, how you love your boyfriend, how you love your siblings, how you love your be@rbricks, how you love that singer or actor or actress, how you love your newest electronic gadget, how you love your hobbies, all of it bonded into one united love - that's my mom's love for me.

that's why i dare to say my mom's love for me is perpetual, and never will it come to a disheartening halt. the cause of my resonating heartbeat is totally regulated by this powerful woman, i call Mommy. now, i question - what about yours?
