the atmosphere was godly, the company was great. as we toured around The Esplanade enroute to our theatre, we were more and more proud being a singaporean.

The Esplanade, The Phantom of The Opera - we walked up the steps with a majestic backdrop surrounding us to Circle 3. ushers did their jobs and we were in our seats in less than 2 minutes. the sight from the 3rd row from the back was just splendid. absolutely splendid. the setting was in place, with curtains 3 storeys high drawn in a standard mode. the seats were all placed strategically so that everyone gets a good view of what was happening on the stage. the stage is probably as big as, or bigger than the size of 2 classrooms. the lightings were almost perfect, etched on the ceilings at various different places, with different coloured lightings. the live orchestra band, from the violins to keyboards, the snares to the cymbals, all of them were mixed with such perfection and precision, i believe everybody in the hall could have listened to every note played clearly. a walkway at the top of the stage was the perfect silhouette of the black coloured tilings on the staged hall. to add on to that, the props were brought in and out so quickly, i think the time taken to bend down to reach my toes and stand upright again would be an understatement of their efficiency. finally, the sound effects - it was ear-piercing to a suitable extend, just enough to incite your senses and make your heart beat faster, like how the bass drum would affect. from blank gun shots, to little details such as footsteps, it was altogether so damned pefect.

after the opera, all of us took a cab to river valley to have some prata, then after that, a cab down with rinaldo and zhiyong home.
