report will be told in a story form:
(1) the day i stopped eating per-rae-tar.
it was a sunny afternoon. carrying my heavy schoolbag and walking along the spine towards my school's canteen, i spotted a radiant shine reflection, its source being the scorching sun. i inched forward slowly by slowly, afraid that it would somehow damage my optics. finally, after much scrutinising and finding, i found the source. it was a simple ear stud, stucked onto the ear of my friend, Prashat. i couldn't explain its prominence among the people in the overcrowded canteen. suddenly, Prashat moved towards me and brandished a row of crude and inhumane language. i found out that he was scolding me. i retorted, which i shouldn't have, "you think you got ear piercing then you gangster.?" and then, he moved his head up, and then down, which i've figured it was a, "what the fuck you want.?" meaning, instead of a dance move taught during literature lesson. then i thought, "literature.?! he.?!" and then, he continued speaking in a rude manner to me. i kept quiet, thoroughly amused by the sheer size of this boy and the speed at which he was shooting his words. i was frightened and knew i couldn't do anything because he didn't give me any time to speak. so, i gave up, and moved away, feeling like a loser.
(2) when people disregard unity, especially when they're the minority.
it started when my friends and i were walking in a group from the toilet after a well-deserved break after football training. it was Alex who first spotted the big group outside our canteen. i heard screams, shouts, and then suddenly, loud shrieks of terror. i thought, "who could it be, with such atrocity to disregard the school rules so openly.?" it must be the notorious gangsters. i paced faster up the steps leading the canteen, and heard the entire conversation between 2 girls, namely Kavitha and Salimah. they were speaking rapidly. i counted my lucky stars to be the only one able to understand what they were quarelling about. after a long time, the 2 superstars and their friends dispersed, because of the rumour of the discipline master's coming. i processed what i had just experienced, and really applaud their bravery and courage, for attempting to break their race's relationship apart.
racism is a very sensitive issue and i have no intention to manhandle any involving element. i just feel, from analysis of the first story, that the minority shouldn't be disrespectful to the chinese who form the most of singapore. they shouldn't be disrespectful to anybody. hold on - nobody should ever be disrespectful to anybody. if Prashat really needed some fist-satisfying activity, he could have cut down his time spent on cricket practice, and pick up thai boxing at the centre off east coast road. he chose to pick up a fight with a frail and feeble boy like me. i am so upset.
the second story is even easier to comprehend. fights shouldn't occur between the same religion and race, especially when there are already so few of them. hold on - fights shouldn't even occur in mankind, let alone among the minority. they should seek unity among themselves first, before we can make racial harmony more meaningful and evident. but if they really do want to quarrel, i suggest The Arena. but we will have to invite bollywood stars to judge the competition which will cost a fortune.
remember there was this period of time, the standup speakup bands were so popular.? i thought it was bullshit. what can a black rubber band and a white rubber band intertwined together signify.? instead, i suspect it is mockery from the maker of these rubber bands.
indians and malays - i have at least 5 good friends from the former group, and at least 20 good friends from the latter group. i have got ahmad kabeer, kumar, zasli, syafiq, and the group of people including sadiq and many many more. you see, without these special people, singapore wouldn't be holding the Asean Cup last sunday. they make singapore, SINGAPORE.!
