i realised i haven't blogged about how i spent my time celebrating the new year after my friend told me she wanted to see the pictures of the fireworks. i went to watch the fireworks at esplanade with my friends, and i tell you, it was bloody gorgeous. like, better than alba or paris hilton.

we thought we went to watch how the characters in street fighters celebrate their new year after spotting zhangiff:

then the fireworks started without any notice or signal. luckily i had my camera strapped on to my wrist. i took lots of pictures but deleted the more blur ones. here are the better ones:

after that, sukardi, faris and his girlfriend left, leaving shahridan, ben and i. we walked to the nearest mrt station which was city hall. judging from the snapshots of the walk back to the station, you should have figured the number of people who came to watch the fireworks this year.

on our way back, some funny looking indian man caught the 3 of our attention. he said he wanted to show us magic. since we weren't in any sort of rush, we stopped and gave him some support. he started twisting his tongue in an entire 360 degree revolution with ease. i wasn't amazed because i've seen my classmates doing so before.

he then challenged himself, twisting his tongue 720 degrees clockwise. this time, i was amazed. 2 revolutions without stopping.

the people nearby showed their appreciation by applauding him. everybody was in a happy mood, and so were we. on our back to the mrt station across the padang field where the newtowners had their big walk before, we rush twice towards a group of banglas, and started wishing them happy new year. it was sort of a mini moshpit. everybody were in high spirits.

the mrt was extremely crowded:

ben then needed some emo-loving.

the law enforcers shouting at least 25 times, "please keep to your right.!"

shahridan needed to buy a standard ticket for the trip back to clementi. we had to queue for a very long time - you'll understand by looking at this picture -

squeezed in that small and congested area, somebody gracefully saved us by breaking wind. thank you very much. luckily for the 3 of us, we had somebody to cheer us up. he needs a name:

we took a taxi from clementi to somewhere near my new place to have our supper. sadly, the pratas were all sold out, and there weren't any vacant seats at all. so we crossed the road and ate the bloody boring macdonalds.
the fireworks were great, the atmosphere was even better, seeing everybody in unity celebrating the new year, and the company was again, yet the best. it's only my second time watching the fireworks, whereby the first was at australia. although they serve more hardcore fireworks over at australia, i'd choose the ones in singapore any time, because singapore is my holmieland.!
