just last night, i was at the SDP's rally over at the big field around bukit panjang's mrt. i don't know why i was there. my family didn't tell me that we were going there, and i wasn't aware because i was busy reading a book after our dinner in the car. a huge crowd of people, i must say, and a minority of this batch of people didn't hold back their feelings and comments when a particular speaker from the SDP voice out something that sounded agreeable to them. even as i'm blogging about this issue, i must be careful. political issues are highly sensitive. during the rally, one of the member from the SDP said something that hit me really hard in my ass. he said, "canada had MRTs. hongkong had MRTs. why is the government still boasting about their transport system.? it's their bloody duty to do it.!" the use of such language surprised me. however, majority of the crowd appluaded in agreement. personally, i describe such an act as barbaric. then, the arrival of Doctor Chee made everybody so hyped up. they immediately surrounded him, took photographs and autographs. i checked - no he wasn't even jay zhou or yellowcard's lead singer. funny. also, they were selling handouts at $2. these handouts came as a source of encouragment to the people to vote for the SDP. printed on these handouts are phrases extracted from the PAP leader's speeches. one of which is prime minister lee hsien long's. according to the handout, PM lee hsien long once said,"if you don't want a 'pay and pay' government, vote for the PAP.!" before the general elections a few years back. after the election, he said, "this is the medicine, take it.!" on the increase of GST. you see, if readers like me, not having a wide background knowledge on this, read such a comment made before and after the elections, i will think twice about voting for the PAP. i'm not taking sides here. but, is this fact or fiction.? the power of propagandaring is enormous. they change people's thinking so immensely. even as a 15 year old teenager, i feel offended listening to the members speak. come to think of it, these 40 years had been a peaceful one. the handling of our nation by the PAP couldn't have been much better. but again, who am i to speak about this issue.? i'm just a 15 year old kid who is raw about taxes, CPFs and so on.

such political fights and debates tear our nation apart. can't we all live happily under one safe and peaceful, beautiful blue sky.? i question the significance of this. this political vibrancy disgusts me totally.
