heylo readers. i have a couple of friends who are hooked on gambling at the young age of 14-16, and wish so much for them to kick this habit. the following are the different levels of gambling, and what one will go thru if he or she is to be hook on gambling. the first level is common nowadays. gamblers begin small, and then increase their bets gradually, hoping to win big-time. despite the fact of losing 9 out of 10 times, they continue their bets religiously. the second bet comes as a coincidence. gamblers win over a period of time regardless of their amounts of bets, and feel "lady luck is smiling at them". therefore, they put in more money in hope to get back better earnings, since they're so lucky. when they finally end their winning streak because luck isn't on them, they turn to the third level, which is to increase their bets to earn more money to cover what they've lost. and then comes the fourth level. with a slight level of depression, gamblers borrow money from loansharks and debtors. sometimes, they forge cheques to get money to satisfy and feed their gambling habits. they eventually lose everything, and begin the fourth cycle again, until they reached the fifth level. they feel they have done enough damage to themselves and to their family and offsprings, and feel they're better off dead. they turn to suicidal acts, feeling a sense of hopelessness.
the gamblers that have gone through these five levels are evolved mainly from the character of my friends. they have a passion for soccer, but sadly, they use it as a source of winning money back, instead of recreational purposes. to these people, i believe we all can lend a hand to help them kick these habits. i wish not to see them evolved into heavy gamblers in future, and get hurt unneccesarily by people whom they have borrowed money from.
